Description
The City of DeKalb Water Department is soliciting bids for the purchase and delivery of approximately 1,550 tons of crushed bulk water softener salt annually to five potable water treatment plants. Deliveries will be made in truckload quantities of approximately 22 to 25 tons on an as-needed basis, within 10 business days of order placement, using trucks with flow-control capabilities. The salt must meet specified quality standards, including Federal Specification O-S-1926, AWWA B200-07, NSF/ANSI Standard 60, and ASTM D 632-01, and must satisfy the stated limits for moisture, insolubles, calcium, magnesium, sulfate, grease and oil, sodium chloride, pH, and sieve size. Pricing must be quoted per ton and include delivery, fuel surcharges, flow-control costs, and all other charges. Bidders must submit the completed bid and detailed cost sheets, exceptions sheet, all pages of the bid package, at least five current customer references, and any applicable subcontractor information.
