Description
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs seeks a general contractor to renovate approximately 1,100 square feet of existing space in Buildings 5 and 5B into a same-day-access mental health clinic. The completed space will include four exam rooms, a combined waiting and reception area, a relocated police office, and associated support spaces. The scope includes selective demolition; new flooring, wall finishes, ceilings, trim, casework, therapeutic design features, secure and ligature-resistant hardware and fixtures, wall-mounted lavatories, domestic water connections, HVAC modifications, electrical receptacles and data outlets, LED lighting and occupancy sensors, sprinkler modifications meeting NFPA 13, structural supports and utility interfaces for government-furnished equipment, and potential asbestos abatement. Work will occur in an occupied clinical facility and must be carefully phased to maintain uninterrupted medical operations, with compliance with ICRA, infection-control, noise, vibration, and coordination requirements. The estimated project cost is $500,000 to $1,000,000, with a firm-fixed-price period of performance beginning November 16, 2026, and ending June 14, 2027, for the base bid.
