Description
Cleveland County Water seeks professional engineering services for the Lawndale Water System Improvements Project. The scope includes design, bidding, and construction oversight for an 8-inch interconnection between Lawndale and Cleveland County Water; replacement of a 4-inch line with a 6-inch line; replacement of plastic service connections with copper; upgrades to automated-read meters; and relocation of a water line from a bridge suspension to beneath the First Broad River. The project is contingent on funding from the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality Division of Water Infrastructure. Funding is not expected until February 2027, and design work will not proceed if funding is not received. Qualifications packages are limited to 10 pages, excluding front and back covers, table of contents, and cover letter. Selection factors include project and local familiarity, relevant water-system and grant-funded project experience, personnel, and availability.
