Description
The City of Athens is soliciting sealed bids for the Columbia Avenue Waterline Improvements project. The work includes installing new water main lines, replacing water service lines to water meters along Columbia Avenue between Northwood Avenue and Strouds Run Road and Old Peach Ridge Road, and replacing old water meter services where needed. The engineer's estimate is $319,954 for the base bid and $249,852 for Alternate 1. Each bid must include the full name and address of every person or company interested in the bid. A proposal bond equal to 100% of the bid is required, or an approved certified check, cashier's check, or irrevocable letter of credit equal to 10% of the bid. A 100% performance bond is required after award. The prime contractor must perform at least 30% of the original contract price. Prevailing wage requirements and U.S. Iron and Steel requirements apply.
