Description
Chatham Area Transit Authority is seeking a design-build contractor to design, permit, and construct a ferry dock and passenger shelter at Plant Riverside. The project includes a 20-by-120-foot concrete floating dock, a 6-by-80-foot ADA-compliant aluminum gangway, a 15-by-20-foot concrete platform, solar-powered lighting, and a passenger shelter on the existing Riverwalk. The work includes engineering, permitting, construction, and associated site work; designs must be stamped by appropriately licensed professionals. The site is behind the parking garage and hotel at 500 West River Street in Savannah, Georgia, and is accessible only from the river or on foot. The proposal must include a design and construction approach and schedule, pricing for the base dock/platform/gangway work and a separately priced shelter alternate, and the specified qualifications and certifications. The solicitation states an anticipated three-year contract, with an estimated project timeline of 18 months. A 5% bid guarantee is required; the successful contractor must provide 100% performance and payment bonds.
