Description
The City of Pomona is requesting proposals from qualified engineering firms to provide design services for repairs and safety improvements to the 2.93-million-gallon cylindrical steel Reservoir No. 2C. The scope includes project management; existing-conditions assessment; site investigation, surveying, geotechnical and corrosion reports; preliminary, 30%, 60%, 90%, and bid-ready design; plans and specifications; construction cost estimates; permitting support; and construction and bidding support. Design elements include repairing corroded steel sections, welding replacement steel, interior and exterior coating or lining work, cathodic protection, ventilation, inlet/outlet and valve improvements, overflow and drain air gaps, anchoring, safety railings, stairs, ladders, fall protection, non-slip surfaces, and related structural and utility improvements. The selected consultant must provide licensed California professionals, a corrosion engineer with NACE certification, required technical reports and design deliverables, and support for RFIs, submittals, change orders, site visits, and record drawings. The proposal requires separate technical and pricing files submitted electronically through PlanetBids.
