Description
The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection is soliciting bids for a public-works project to establish a permanent power source for a fire lookout and vault. The contractor must provide all labor, materials, equipment, tools, permits, transportation, taxes, and fees necessary to trench and install underground electrical power distribution infrastructure along Signal Ridge Road to Cold Springs Lookout. Work must comply with applicable codes, Pacific Gas and Electric Company requirements, and safety and environmental regulations. The project includes approximately 9,766 linear feet of four-inch underground electrical conduit, pull strings, traffic-rated splice boxes, inspections and coordination with Pacific Gas and Electric Company, conductor installation, final energization, GPS-located as-built plans, vegetation and tree removal as needed, drainage maintenance, relief trenches, traffic control, erosion control, replacement of 11 culverts with 18-inch HDPE rock-armored culverts, backfilling and compaction, and six inches of compacted gravel roadway resurfacing. Bidders must hold a California Class A General Engineering Contractor license, satisfy applicable public-works and motor-carrier registration requirements, maintain Pacific Gas and Electric Company prequalification where applicable, and have an office within 60 miles of the project site. The project includes prevailing-wage, insurance, bonding, and mandatory site-inspection requirements.
