Description
The Ames Laboratory requires a reliable source for high-quality compressed scientific gases, as well as liquid nitrogen and liquid helium on an as-needed basis. The supplier will be responsible for providing personnel, equipment, and logistics for the delivery and removal of gas cylinders, liquid nitrogen, and liquid helium. The scope includes various types and grades of gases such as Argon, Carbon Dioxide, Helium, Hydrogen, Nitrogen, Oxygen, Propane, and specialized mixtures. The supplier will also manage refilling of bulk nitrogen and helium tanks and provide an e-commerce website for order placement. Deliveries are expected within one week of purchase order release, with expedited options available. Cylinders must be leak-free upon delivery. The supplier will also provide barcode scanning capability and software for tracking cylinder inventory and demurrage charges. Valve replacement and hydrostatic testing for supplier-owned cylinders will be managed by the supplier.
