Mason County is soliciting professional consulting services to update its Hazard Mitigation Plan in accordance with FEMA Local Hazard Mitigation Plan requirements under 44 CFR 201.6 and applicable Texas Division of Emergency Management guidance. The work covers Mason County, the City of Mason, and Mason Independent School District, and must support formal adoption and FEMA approval. The selected consultant will manage the planning process; conduct hazard identification, risk, vulnerability, and capability assessments; produce GIS-based maps and source files; facilitate planning-team meetings, workshops, and public meetings; develop and document a mitigation strategy and plan-maintenance process; prepare draft and final plan documents; and address state and federal review comments through FEMA approval. Proposals must include a technical proposal, separate price proposal, required forms and certifications, at least three similar project examples, at least three references, a proposed approach and schedule, and public and stakeholder engagement strategies. The anticipated project duration is approximately 12–18 months, and the anticipated budget is approximately $65,000–$85,000.
