Description
The National Forest Foundation is soliciting proposals for the design, engineering, fabrication, delivery, and installation of trail bridges over Wolverine Creek and 3rd Creek, with an optional 45-foot bridge over 1st Creek. The base work includes bridge superstructures and concrete sill abutments, approaches, clearing and grubbing, construction survey and staking, logistics, and coordination with an adjacent trail construction contractor. Timber, steel, or fiber-reinforced polymer bridge systems are permitted, subject to the applicable specifications; steel and FRP designs require an Alaska Professional Engineer stamp where specified. The work involves remote sites without road or off-road vehicle access, potentially requiring helicopter mobilization, overland access, site investigation, geotechnical verification, steep-slope abutment construction, and coordination with the U.S. Forest Service. Proposals must include a technical approach, project work plan and schedule, key personnel, qualifications, relevant experience, three references, information about failed projects or pending legal matters, separate pricing by bridge and option item, and a proposed payment schedule. Prevailing wages, insurance, and conditional payment or performance security requirements apply. The anticipated contract period is October 22, 2026, through December 1, 2027.
