Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs seeks a sole-source provider for on-call inspection, maintenance, and repair of 13 Hobart kitchen appliances at the White River Junction VA Medical Center. Covered equipment includes conveyor and blower-dryer units, a prep washer, combi ovens, a mixer, pulper, gas griddle, warmers, steam table, and electric kettles. Repairs will be performed as needed by a qualified technician; parts not covered by the contract require a report to the Contracting Officer's Representative identifying the parts and prices. The notice states that ITW Food Equipment Group LLC, doing business as Hobart, is intended to receive the procurement because it manufactures and services the proprietary equipment and is identified as the only authorized service provider. The requirement includes two option years with an expected price increase of approximately 10 percent per year. Work will occur in a functioning hospital and must comply with infection-control practices and applicable NFPA, OSHA, EPA, federal, state, local, and VA requirements.
