Description
Colusa County is soliciting proposals from aviation-related, commercial, agricultural, and service-oriented businesses to lease and operate approximately two acres of exclusive-use commercial property at Sid Pickles Field (Colusa County Airport). The facility includes approximately 17,100 square feet of hangar, warehouse, shop, and office space, with two hangars, a well and septic system, concrete staging pads, a zero-discharge washout area, secured access, outdoor storage and staging areas, utility infrastructure, and access to the airport taxiway and State Route 20. Aviation-related uses are preferred but not required if the proposed operation is compatible with airport operations and applicable requirements. Proposals must describe the proposed annual lease amount and lease term, with a minimum proposed term of 10 years; business operations; proposed uses for each building and outdoor area; occupancy timeline; planned improvements and capital investments; anticipated vehicle, truck, trailer, and aircraft traffic; onsite storage; required licenses and permits; and at least three professional references. The selected lessee will be responsible for maintaining the premises, paying utilities, complying with applicable laws and FAA requirements, obtaining required approvals, and maintaining specified insurance. The proposal package is limited to 15 double-sided pages, excluding the cover letter and requested licenses, and must include one original and one copy. The County will evaluate overall financial value, operational approach, experience and financial stability, airport compatibility, and community and economic benefit.
