Description
The City of Casa Grande is seeking a Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) to provide preconstruction services and, if authorized through a separate construction agreement, complete construction services for the Thornton Road and Cottonwood Lane Improvements. The project includes widening the Thornton Road and Cottonwood Lane intersection; adding turn lanes; sidewalk, curb and gutter, drainage catch basin, drainage pipe, and irrigation pipe work; traffic signal modifications; and signing and striping modifications. The Cottonwood Lane portion includes pavement rehabilitation between Pinal Avenue and Thornton Road using mill-and-fill, mill-and-fill with SAMI, full-depth replacement with new asphalt concrete, and asphalt removal and concrete replacement. Additional work includes ADA ramp and sidewalk improvements and driveway replacement. The CMAR will support design development, constructability and value-engineering reviews, cost modeling, scheduling, GMP preparation, permitting, subcontractor and supplier procurement, quality control, testing and inspection, construction management, and sealed as-built plans. The CMAR may self-perform work or solicit subcontractor bids, subject to the solicitation's requirements; horizontal construction must be at least 45 percent self-performed. A payment bond and performance bond, each for 100 percent of the GMP, are required before execution of any construction-phase agreement.
