Description
The City of Galveston is soliciting competitive proposals for construction of a new elevated, approximately 6,500-square-foot headquarters facility for the Galveston Island Beach Patrol at Stewart Beach. The scope includes demolition, excavation and backfill, utilities, concrete paving and sidewalks, landscaping, structural and architectural construction, roofing, doors and windows, plumbing, HVAC, electrical systems, communications, video surveillance, fire detection and alarm, and related site and building work. The project manual also includes construction inspection, testing, quality control, stormwater and erosion controls, prevailing wage requirements, and Davis-Bacon wage determinations. The project budget is $3,900,000, with a required completion period of 260 calendar days. Proposals must include the completed proposal and pricing documents, required certifications and affidavits, four similar-project references, and a 5 percent bid bond. The selected contractor must provide 100 percent performance and payment bonds at contract execution, along with specified insurance coverage. The City may award one or multiple agreements and will evaluate proposals based on past performance, cost, project-manager and superintendent experience, and proposed schedule.
