Description
St. Charles County is soliciting formal bids for renovations at Veterans Tribute Park Playground. The project addresses erosion around the central playground and includes selective demolition, removal of existing synthetic turf and shock pad, salvage of existing materials, leveling and recompaction of aggregate base, new inlets and subsurface drainage, concrete curbs and steps, earthwork, plantings, segmental retaining walls, natural stone retaining walls, and related site restoration. New playground safety surfacing will be provided and installed separately by another contractor, although the general contractor must coordinate with that work and preserve or install required nailer boards and suitable aggregate base. The contractor must provide all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, permits, temporary facilities, erosion and sediment controls, site security, tree protection, and coordination required by the drawings and specifications. The prime contractor must self-perform at least 40% of the original contract work. The contract documents state a 60-calendar-day completion period after written notice to proceed, excluding County-observed holidays, and require prevailing wages, a 5% bid security, and a 100% performance and payment bond when the project is valued at $50,000 or more.
