Description
The New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH) is offering funds to support the expanded implementation of the Psychiatric Collaborative Care Model (CoCM) within obstetrics and gynecology (OBGYN) and family medicine practices throughout New York State. This model is designed to integrate behavioral health services into primary care settings, enhancing care for perinatal patients. CoCM involves a multidisciplinary team, including a Behavioral Health Care Manager (BHCM) and a Psychiatric Consultant, to provide evidence-based treatment for behavioral health needs. This initiative aims to improve screening and treatment for perinatal depression, reduce racial disparities in care, and enhance overall patient and provider satisfaction. Priority will be given to applicants in counties with no current CoCM presence and at-risk areas. Up to 17 awards are anticipated, with a total funding of up to $850,000. Applicants must be prequalified and submit proposals through the Statewide Financial System. The funding is intended for sites not currently providing CoCM, with the expectation that awardees will support ongoing programs through revenue from claims.
