Description
San Jacinto College is soliciting sealed proposals for electrical upgrades at its Central Campus. The project involves replacing and reconfiguring the existing 12.47 kV medium-voltage electrical distribution system serving Buildings C-30, C-31, and C-32. Work includes removing associated medium-voltage conductors; installing a new 12.47 kV, 1-in/2-out PME-7 sectionalizer and equipment pad; installing an underground Quazite pull box, conduits, and medium-voltage conductors; reusing the existing empty conduit pathway serving the Building C-32 transformer; and reconnecting the existing conductors serving the Building C-30 and C-31 transformers to the new sectionalizer. The work will be phased to allow concurrent construction activities and will include a coordinated final system cutover intended to minimize campus power outages and disruption to ongoing operations. The project estimate is approximately $280,000, with a Notice to Proceed expected in October 2026 and desired completion in July 2027. Detailed requirements are contained in the project manual, drawings, and specifications.
