Description
The University of Kentucky is soliciting proposals for sign language interpretation and related communication access services supporting students, faculty, staff, patients, visitors, and members of the public. Required capabilities may include American Sign Language interpretation, Certified Deaf Interpreter services, tactile interpretation, oral transliteration, cued speech, British Sign Language, and other specialty interpreting services. Services may be scheduled or unscheduled and may be delivered on-site, remotely, or through a hybrid model across academic, healthcare, administrative, research, conference, technical, student, public-event, and community-outreach settings. The contractor must provide qualified and credentialed interpreters, maintain recruitment, screening, training, competency assessment, quality assurance, confidentiality, and reporting processes, and support business hours, evenings, weekends, and recognized holidays. On-site ASL interpreters must have at least a high school diploma or GED, one year of experience, a valid Kentucky license, and certification from the National Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf. The solicitation also requires background checks, drug screening, applicable employee-health compliance, and detailed information regarding qualifications, available staffing, service capabilities, financial pricing, implementation, and at least three client references. The contract term is two years from award, renewable for up to three additional two-year periods.
