Description
The United Nations Development Programme in Nepal seeks one or more qualified individual consultants to provide English-to-Nepali and Nepali-to-English translation, proofreading, and editing services under a long-term agreement. Assignments may include policy briefs, research papers, project documents, legal texts, official correspondence, press releases, website content, and social media posts across areas such as governance, climate and disaster resilience, inclusive economic growth, and gender equality and social inclusion. The work includes culturally and contextually accurate translation, terminology research, proofreading, copy-editing, substantive editing, and delivery of documents in agreed formats. Translation deliverables must preserve the source layout; edited documents must include a tracked-changes version and a clean final version. Consultants must have a relevant bachelor's degree, at least five years of documented English-Nepali and Nepali-English translation, editing, or proofreading experience, and strong written proficiency in both languages. The agreement has an initial one-year term, with possible extensions up to three years, subject to performance and continued need, and does not guarantee any minimum volume of work.
