Description
The University of Kentucky is requesting proposals for a price contract covering bindery services for books, periodicals, newspapers, theses, dissertations, and related library materials serving campus libraries, academic departments, and adjunct facilities. Required work includes standard, custom, and economy binding; recasing; pamphlet and enclosure construction; labeling; conservation-related treatments; pickup and delivery; inspection, collation, sewing, adhesive binding, casing, lettering, and repair of defective workmanship. The scope also includes digital reformatting and preservation-quality facsimile reproduction, including TIFF image capture, optional PDF derivatives, digital delivery by physical media or FTP, and reproduction of embrittled or oversized materials. Offerors must provide detailed technical and financial proposals, an automated binding-preparation system with user manuals, training and related samples, extensive material and finished-work samples listed in Attachment A, three comparable higher-education references, and separate sealed technical and financial proposal packages. The resulting contract is expected to run for two years from award, with up to six additional one-year renewals.
