Description
Miami University's Electrical and Computer Engineering department is seeking proposals for industrial automation educational equipment. This equipment will be used to update the curriculum and provide students with essential skills in areas such as PLC programming, HMI development, variable frequency drives, and sensor technology. The requested equipment includes Allen-Bradley (Rockwell Automation) components like CompactLogix 5380 Series PLCs, PanelView 5310 HMIs, and various sensors. The solution should be modular, portable, and adaptable, capable of integrating with existing Rockwell Automation software and industrial robots. The university is looking for a vendor to provide and potentially install this equipment, along with training and warranty services. Proposals will be evaluated based on a best-value selection, considering factors such as qualifications, references, the services offered, compliance with specifications, and overall value. The contract term is expected to begin upon award, with installation completed by September 25, 2026, and services continuing through the warranty period. The total length of successive contract extensions shall not exceed twenty-four (24) months.
