Description
Letcher County is seeking proposals for streambank stabilization services near Thicket Branch Road. This project, part of the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service's (NRCS) Environmental Watershed Protection (EWP) Program, involves the installation of gabion baskets and the clearing and shaping of designated channel areas to mitigate flooding hazards in rural areas. Proposals must be submitted online through the DFS Procurement Portal at dfs.bonfirehub.com by June 26, 2026, at 9:00 AM local time (EST). A public opening of proposals will occur on June 26, 2026, at 10:00 AM in the Judge Executive's Office. The anticipated award date is June 29, 2026, at 10:00 AM EST during a special call of the Letcher County Fiscal Court. The work is expected to be completed no later than July 17, 2026, with a penalty of $1,000 per day for failure to meet this deadline.
