Description
The Kentucky Division of Abandoned Mine Lands is soliciting bids for two projects: 24030 and 23118, both located in Pike County, Kentucky. Project 24030 addresses drainage issues at the properties of Pauletta Johnson and Ricky Tucker by installing a gabion weir, extending an existing block wall, and installing additional subdrains and ditches. Project 23118 addresses three mine portals behind the homes of Randy and Earl Johnson, which have caused yard oversaturation and a small slide. Work includes non-wildlife accessible portal closures, drainage control methods such as subdrains and combination rock ditches, a retaining wall, additional culverts, 80 feet of DWPP pipe, and temporary cribbing for an access bridge. Both sites have been previously disturbed by coal mining and other activities, requiring careful earthwork.
