Description
The City is seeking a construction contractor to install green infrastructure at seven parks and playgrounds. Work includes subsurface stormwater detention and retention systems, bioretention, synthetic turf, permeable and porous paving, drainage structures and piping, excavation, backfill, concrete and asphalt restoration, landscaping, and related site improvements. The systems are intended to capture and manage stormwater runoff. The bid schedule includes numerous unit-price work items and allowances for unforeseen hazardous-material sampling, handling, and disposal, as well as CCTV inspection. Bidders must submit a completed bid through PASSPort and provide bid security. The bid booklet also requires evidence of experience on at least three substantially completed projects within the last ten years, with at least three years of experience performing similar work. The apparent low bidder may have additional post-opening requirements, including an employment report if applicable. The contract requires a 5% bid bond and 100% performance and payment bonds; the stated substantial-completion period is 1,095 consecutive calendar days. The solicitation requires a minimum of two self-sustaining work crews capable of working simultaneously, and limits subcontracting to 40% of the contract price.
