Description
The project will reclaim approximately 74 acres of previously mined land. Work includes backfilling about 2,000 linear feet of mining highwall, eliminating approximately 14 acres of mine pits, grading spoil and refuse areas, and applying limestone sand or agricultural lime where specified. Borrow material will be hauled to designated areas for final cover. The contractor will also construct long-term treatment cells in existing mine pits to address acid mine drainage, using materials such as limestone sand, straw or hay, compost or manure, and hardwood bark mulch or equivalents. Pit water must be treated to a pH of at least 6 before release, in accordance with the applicable technical specifications. Bids must be submitted electronically, with the Official Bid Document and any required bid bond combined into one PDF attachment.
