Description
The project is a single-prime renovation of approximately 1,586 square feet of existing instructional space at Pender High School into a fully operational food and nutrition lab. The scope includes selective demolition; interior construction; metal framing and gypsum board; doors, hardware, and storefront systems; architectural finishes; casework and countertops; plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and technology modifications; kitchen equipment and utility connections; kitchen exhaust systems; and associated work. Construction will occur within an occupied school facility and must maintain campus operations. The bid package requires a completed Bid Form, bid security equal to 5 percent of the base bid, identification of major subcontractors, minority-business participation documentation, and either Affidavit A or Affidavit B with the bid. The successful bidder must provide performance and labor-and-material payment bonds, insurance, and other contract and closeout submittals. The documents identify a 10 percent minority-business participation goal and require either Affidavit C or Affidavit D from the apparent low bidder within 72 hours after notification.
