Description
The National Institutes of Health (NIH), specifically the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA), intends to award a firm-fixed-price purchase order to Life Technologies Corporation for AmpliSeq Transcriptome reagents and associated sequencing reagents. These reagents are crucial for identifying transcriptional biomarkers from blood samples of patients with Alcohol Use Disorder and control subjects as part of an ongoing study. An alternative sequencing approach is necessary due to previous contracting issues with a proprietary method. AmpliSeq is preferred due to its low RNA input requirements and ability to handle degraded samples. These reagents will be used to validate AmpliSeq data as an alternative to earlier contract sequencing and to expand the dataset to additional subjects. This notice is not a request for competitive quotes. However, any available small businesses (e.g., 8(a), service-disabled veteran-owned small business, HUBZone small business, small disadvantaged business, veteran-owned small business, and women-owned small business) may submit a written capability statement demonstrating their ability to perform the requirement. The government will determine if competition is feasible based on responses.
