Description
This special notice is for information and market research purposes only and is not a request for proposal, quotation, or bid. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Alaska District, is hosting a virtual Industry Day to provide a program update on the Fightertown Recapitalization (FTR) Program, gather industry input on construction risks, capabilities, and acquisition strategies, familiarize industry with unique facility requirements, and address questions. The recapitalization of fighter town at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson is an approximated $7 billion program that takes a campus approach. It includes aviation and maintenance facilities (hangars, corrosion control, maintenance shops), airfield infrastructure (pavements, taxiways, aprons), operations and support facilities (munitions complex, petroleum operations, visitor control, dining, warehousing, firefighting), and personnel and training facilities (housing, simulators, training rooms). The program may involve modifying or demolishing existing facilities and includes supporting infrastructure like roadways, parking, sidewalks, utilities, communications systems, and backup generators. The project intends to leverage innovative acquisition authorities such as Other Transaction Authority (OTA) and Progressive Design-Build (PDB) to innovate in delivery and reduce timelines and costs.
