Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Alaska District, plans to solicit a full-and-open Invitation for Bid for repairs to worn areas and installation of new center rails in an approximately 2,100-foot-long tunnel. The contractor will provide all labor, equipment, supplies, materials, supervision, and other items and services needed to complete the work. The project includes demolition of damaged liner, construction of replacement rails and concrete liner, placement of 1.5-inch abrasion-resistant concrete, and dewatering and diversion work. The resulting contract is expected to be firm-fixed-price, with an estimated construction magnitude of $10 million to $25 million and a 1,000-calendar-day period of performance. Construction wage rates apply. The project is contingent on the availability of funds. Bids are not accepted under this presolicitation notice; the forthcoming solicitation is expected to be available online on or after November 3, 2026. Electronic bids will be submitted through the PIEE Solicitation Module.
