Description
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) intends to award a sole source firm-fixed-price purchase order for one CARR(r) PowerFuge(r) Pilot Separation System, along with required accessories, to CARR Biosystems. This system is needed to support pilot-scale cell harvest operations for the FDA's Cell-Free Protein Synthesis (CFPS) research program. The system must meet specific technical requirements, including an imperforate solid bowl design, operation at 20,000xg, integrated cooling, a removable autoclavable titanium bowl, and compatibility with existing validated CFPS workflows. The procurement is necessary because market research identified CARR Biosystems as the only known source that meets these minimum technical requirements. Delivery is expected within 90 days of contract award, and a two-year warranty is included after installation and acceptance.
