The New York City Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is issuing a competitive sealed bid through its PASSPort system for hazardous waste and materials handling, removal, and disposal services, along with emergency spill response. This contract will cover services across various DEP facilities and field locations throughout the five boroughs. The scope of work includes the remediation, handling, removal, and disposal of hazardous waste and materials, such as contaminated debris, chemicals, petroleum products, and mercury-containing equipment. It also encompasses emergency response for spills of hazardous substances and petroleum products, requiring 24/7 availability. The contractor will be responsible for all packaging, labeling, transportation, and disposal in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The contract also specifies requirements for using approved containers, licensed transporters, and EPA-approved disposal facilities, along with laboratory services for air monitoring and waste testing.
