Description
The California Department of Veterans Affairs (CalVet) is soliciting quotes from California Small Businesses (SB) / Micro Businesses (MB) for bio-hazardous, pharmaceutical, and medical waste pick-up and disposal services. The services will be provided to the Veterans Home of California - Lancaster. The contract term is from July 1, 2026, or upon date of approval, whichever is later, through June 30, 2029. The award will be made to the lowest responsive responsible quote. Services include monthly pick-up of waste, inspection and cleaning of waste containers, and providing waste manifests and certificates of disposal. The contractor must also respond to unscheduled/emergency pick-up requests within 24 hours. An operational plan detailing procedures for pickup, transport, treatment, and disposal must be submitted, along with all required licenses, permits, and proof of staff training. The contractor must comply with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including those pertaining to medical waste management and transportation.
