Description
The Smithsonian Institution is seeking multiple small-business construction firms for indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contracts supporting construction, repair, renovation, modification, and restoration of Smithsonian facilities. Individual projects are expected to range from $1 million to $8 million and may involve demolition, site work, concrete, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, masonry, carpentry, painting, plastering, cabinetry, drywall, roofing, and related construction tasks. Offerors must submit qualifications demonstrating at least three comparable projects completed or in progress within the past five years, including at least one completed project and at least one project involving a designated historic building. Comparable projects must generally be valued at $3 million or more and address complex systems, occupied or secure facilities, public access, research environments, historic structures, and specialized finishes. The submission must also address organizational capability, safety and EMR history, backlog, audited financial statements, bonding capacity, banking references, approaches to phasing occupied facilities, subcontractor management, overhead and fee structure, and project closeout. Multiple contracts may be awarded, with future task-order pricing solicited from the contract pool.
