Description
The Montana Department of Transportation is soliciting proposals from consulting firms to evaluate and design rehabilitation or reconstruction of the Broadus Rest Area. The scope includes engineering and architectural services; evaluation of structural, source-water, septic, and future-use needs; ADA-compliant internal and external features; compliance with local, state, federal, and environmental requirements; design of a commercial truck inspection pit near the adjacent scale site; and, as applicable, preparation of construction plans and specifications for a future construction project. Public involvement activities are also required. The proposal must identify the prime consultant, which is generally expected to perform at least 50% of the work unless an exception is approved, and must demonstrate Montana professional engineering licensure at submission. Responses are limited to five pages excluding the required appendices and must address team qualifications and project approach. Required appendices include brief resumes, the completed MDT cover page form, and references for at least five similar contracts completed within the past three years. The contract schedule will be negotiated before execution, and the anticipated contract structure is cost-plus fixed fee with negotiated cost ceilings.
