The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is conducting market research for the planned major rehabilitation of Winfield Locks and Dam. The anticipated scope includes replacement of five standard roller gates and one specialized flap gate; rehabilitation or replacement of roller-gate hoist machinery and mechanical and electrical drive components; replacement of primary power feeders and dam electrical distribution; replacement of failing post-tensioned tainter-gate and main-lock miter-gate anchorage systems; and replacement of emergency-gate wire ropes and sheaves. The expanded scope also includes complete replacement of the dam service bridge and modernization of the electrical controls and SCADA system. The industry day is expected to include an informational presentation, question-and-answer session, site visit, and individual private meetings with the Project Delivery Team. The notice is a market research activity seeking participation from both prime contractors and subcontractors; a questionnaire and 30% drawings were anticipated to be posted separately.
