Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs issued a notice of intent to sole source for full-service maintenance and repair of one Lumenis Selecta Trio ND:YAG laser, including preventive and corrective maintenance, labor, replacement parts, software updates and upgrades, and technical support. The equipment is identified as asset tag 60864 and serial number 10140. The anticipated contract structure is one base year plus four option years. Lumenis states that service may only be provided by Lumenis employees and that independent technicians do not receive the required training, procedures, updates, specialized tools, or test fixtures. However, the Government will consider capability statements, proposals, or quotations from other responsible sources that can demonstrate access to OEM-trained personnel, compatible parts, software updates, technical procedures, specialized tools, test fixtures, and technical support. This notice is not itself a solicitation; responses will inform the Government's decision whether to proceed with the contemplated sole-source action.
