Description
The City of Homer is soliciting sealed bids for seasonal rental of City-owned cold storage units at the City of Homer Ice Plant for non-edible bait during the 2027 fishing season. Lockers 1 through 8 are approximately 8 by 10 feet, with a minimum seasonal bid of $4,000; Locker 9 is approximately 10 by 22 feet, with a minimum seasonal bid of $11,000. Certain lockers are reserved for commercial fishing vessel owners or operators and approved Fish Dock Use Permit fish buyers, while other lockers are open to all bidders. Each bid must include a completed and signed Cold Storage Unit Agreement and a written narrative describing planned seasonal use, stating the bid amount, and identifying the locker category. Bidders may submit no more than two bids, with only one bid per sealed envelope. Units may be used solely for non-edible bait; food intended for human consumption is prohibited. The anticipated rental period begins in mid-March and continues through the seasonal closing date established by the City, with at least 30 days' advance notice of closure.
