Description
The Kenai Peninsula Borough is soliciting firm-price bids for the South Peninsula Hospital Generator project. The work includes furnishing and installing generator systems, associated electrical distribution and paralleling-controller modifications, automatic and manual transfer switches, fuel-oil piping and a 10,000-gallon exterior fuel tank, fire suppression modifications, concrete foundations, site improvements, roofing and wall repairs, demolition, and related mechanical, electrical, structural, and architectural work. The project includes hazardous-materials assessment, removal, handling, transportation, disposal, monitoring, and documentation for potentially asbestos-, lead-, mercury-, PCB-, universal-waste, and heat-transfer-fluid materials. The contract is federally funded through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Health Resources and Services Administration and is subject to Alaska Title 36 wage requirements and applicable federal grant provisions. The work must be substantially completed by June 30, 2027. Performance and payment bonds, each for 100 percent of the contract amount, are required for contracts of $100,000 or more; a bid bond or equivalent security of 5 percent is required when the bid exceeds $100,000.
