Description
The Anchorage School District is soliciting bids for a minimum of 20,000 pounds of 90/10 ground beef. The product must be individually packaged in 10-pound increments, vacuum sealed, delivered frozen, harvested in Alaska, and supplied in four approximately equal shipments of 5,000 pounds each. Products must comply with applicable USDA nutrition standards and be original, new, properly labeled, and free of defects or nonconformities. The successful contractor must deliver to the District's Student Nutrition Warehouse as required, maintain the product frozen solid at 0°F or below through delivery, meet packaging, palletizing, labeling, food-safety, and temperature-history requirements, and replace rejected or defective products at no additional cost. Bidders must submit pricing on the prescribed bid forms; award will be made to the lowest responsive, responsible offeror, with a 7% local preference for agricultural products harvested in Alaska.
