Description
The University of Louisville is seeking a qualified Design-Build Contractor to perform comprehensive programming, design, bidding, and construction for the renovation of approximately 20,000 square feet in the Miller Information Technology Center Suite 109 into a Student Wellness Center. The completed center will co-locate Campus Health, the Counseling Center, a Campus Recreation Wellness Hub, the PEACC Office, Health Services, and Alcohol and Drug Education. The Design-Build Contractor must demonstrate experience with comparable projects, particularly psychological counseling and medical facilities, and the ability to integrate with the owner and coordinate stakeholders throughout project development. The scope includes programming and space planning, interior renovation, building-system upgrades, low-voltage cabling, contractor-provided rough-ins and backboxes for owner-furnished security and audiovisual systems, emergency-responder access improvements as needed, and construction in a fully operational building. Significant noise, shutdowns, and occupant impacts must be coordinated with the University at least 72 hours in advance. The proposal is qualifications- and approach-focused; pricing will be negotiated with the awarded vendor, and project-specific design concepts are not required in the initial proposal. The project budget is $10,000,000.
