Description
Madison County, Alabama, is soliciting sealed bids for widening CR-47 (Blake Bottom Road) from CR-19 (Jeff Road) to SR-255 (Research Park Boulevard). The work includes clearing and excavation; aggregate base and asphalt paving; removal and installation of drainage structures, pipes, inlets, culverts, sidewalks, driveways, curbs, gutters, guardrails, fencing, and retaining walls; erosion-control and landscaping work; pavement markings and signs; traffic-control devices; and removal and installation of traffic signal systems, including radar detection equipment. The project is federally funded and has an estimated bracket range of $20,313,542.97 to $24,827,663.63. The project must be completed within 450 working days. A bid bond or cashier's check is required, and the successful contractor must provide performance and materials bonds. Bidders must perform at least 30% of the total contract cost with their own organization. DBE requirements are not applicable and no specific MBE/DBE goals have been established.
