Description
The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases’ Division of Microbiology and Infectious Diseases is soliciting separate proposals for one or more of three research areas: needle-free vaccine candidates progressing through early-phase clinical trials; therapeutic candidates for serious infectious diseases, including viral hemorrhagic fevers, encephalitic paramyxoviruses, picornaviruses, antimicrobial-resistant bacteria, and specified fungal pathogens; and innovative in vitro diagnostic platforms for rapid, broad viral detection and identification. The work may include lead optimization, preclinical and IND-enabling studies, GMP manufacturing, regulatory submissions, clinical trials, diagnostic platform development, clinical validation, and associated technical, business, quality, data-management, and regulatory activities. Proposals must be submitted as separate technical and business proposals, with a technical proposal limit of 75 pages. Multiple cost-reimbursement completion-type contracts are anticipated, with proposed performance periods not exceeding an estimated five years; the solicitation estimates up to $16 million in FY 2027 funding for up to four awards.
