Description
The New York State Department of Health is issuing Solicitation of Interest #20820 under the Primary Care Service Corps Loan Repayment Program. Eligible applicants include dentists, dental hygienists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, certified nurse midwives, clinical psychologists, licensed clinical social workers, licensed marriage and family therapists, and licensed mental health counselors. Applicants must commit to practice at an active National Health Service Corps-approved site and demonstrate that they will provide eligible primary care or behavioral health services in an outpatient or other qualifying setting. Up to $1,000,000 is available for new awards. Individual awards are capped at $72,000 for full-time dentists, $54,000 for nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and certified nurse midwives, and $36,000 for the other eligible clinician categories, subject to qualifying educational debt. Awardees must complete a three-year service obligation and may not simultaneously participate in another overlapping state or federal loan-repayment obligation, including Public Service Loan Forgiveness. The Q&A confirms that applicants must have a qualifying work start date of July 1, 2026, prior PCSC participants are ineligible, and there are currently no plans to renew or extend contracts. Applicants must provide current loan statements, site information, professional licenses, and a copy of the applicable Health Professional Shortage Area page when required.
