Description
The City of Bridgeport is soliciting bids for construction Bid Packages 1.02–1.08 for Phase 2 renovations and additions at John Winthrop Elementary School. Bidders must provide a Connecticut DAS Certification and Update Statement. The project is covered by a Project Labor Agreement, and successful bidders must comply with its applicable terms; trade agreements with the relevant unions must be executed before on-site work begins. A mandatory pre-bid walkthrough is a prerequisite to submitting a bid. For bids of $100,000 or more, bidders must include a 10% bid bond or certified check; bids exceeding $100,000 must also include prevailing wage rates. The successful bidder must provide 100% payment and performance bonds if the contract exceeds $100,000. Insurance certificates and an endorsement are required from the awarded contractor before work begins, so they are not bid-time submission items. Contractors must be licensed in Connecticut, and out-of-state bidders must provide a Certificate of Authority to Do Business in Connecticut within five days of a Notice of Intent to Award.
