Description
The City of Statesboro is soliciting sealed bids for construction and installation of approximately 2,700 feet of 4-inch PE natural gas main and 1,175 feet of 2-inch PE natural gas main serving a new Kroger and adjacent shopping center. The work includes trenching, horizontal directional drilling, tie-ins to existing 4-inch and 2-inch PE mains, valve assemblies and boxes, risers with valves and plugs, pipeline markers supplied by the City, backfilling, surface restoration, cleanup, purging, and pressure testing. Contractors must furnish the required labor, equipment, materials, and incidentals and comply with 49 CFR Part 192 and applicable operator-qualification requirements. Addendum 1 confirms that tracer wire is not required to be pulled back with HDD pipe, HV tap tees are acceptable, bypass valves are not required for the 2-inch commercial risers, 12-gauge wire with a minimum 30-mil yellow coating is required, coiled pipe is acceptable when a coil-tamer trailer is used, and digital chart recorders are acceptable for pressure testing. The bid must include the required bid security, utility contractor's license, insurance certificate, bidder qualification information, and operator-qualification documentation. A minimum 20% MFBE participation goal applies.
