Description
The Susquehanna Regional Transportation Authority, doing business as rabbittransit, is soliciting bids for a firm-fixed-price project in York County. The contractor must furnish labor, materials, equipment, transportation, handling, and supervision to install 15 round concrete planters—11 measuring 28 inches in diameter and four measuring 24 inches—along a sidewalk, place large boulders to restrict vehicle access, relocate existing landscape grasses, install approved plantings, replace designated mulch with existing river rock, install geotextile, remove and dispose of waste, and restore disturbed areas. Planters must be new, charcoal-colored, weathered-finish concrete units suitable for outdoor freezing and thawing conditions, with drainage and a minimum empty weight of 500 pounds each; Dawn Enterprises Charcoal #920 or an approved equal is specified. The contractor must field-verify conditions, submit product information, planting information, a boulder plan, and a final placement layout for approval, while maintaining accessible routes and safe facility access. The bid must include the completed quote form and required signed certifications and forms. The selected contractor must provide a one-year plant and workmanship warranty, and must maintain workers’ compensation and liability insurance; the general liability requirement is $2,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate, with the Authority named as an additional insured. Subcontracting is permitted, but the prime contractor must perform at least 20% of the specified service.
