Description
Chatham Area Transit Authority is soliciting proposals for the design, permitting, and construction of a ferry facility at Plant Riverside. The base work includes a 20-by-120-foot concrete floating dock, a 6-foot-by-80-foot aluminum ADA gangway, a 15-by-20-foot concrete platform with railings, solar-powered lighting, and associated piles, railings, and connections. The project also includes design and construction of a passenger landing shelter on the existing Riverwalk, with related pavers, rails, lighting, and finishes. The design-builder is responsible for engineering, permitting, geotechnical investigation, materials, labor, equipment, construction oversight, and compliance with applicable ADA, Army Corps of Engineers, Buy America, and federal transit requirements. Proposals are evaluated on experience and performance, project approach, cost, and DBE participation. The solicitation anticipates a three-year contract, with an estimated 18-month project timeline, and requires a separate shelter price as an alternate.
