Description
Swatara Township Authority is soliciting bids for four separate contracts: general construction, electrical work, HVAC work, and plumbing work. The project includes a new suction-lift triplex wastewater pump station with a pump station building, three pumps, electrical and generator rooms, control platform, and wet well; installation of a 12-inch force main; installation of 8-, 12-, 15-, and 18-inch gravity sanitary sewers and associated manholes; bypass pumping; abandonment or removal of existing sewer facilities; traffic control; paving and site restoration; and related structural, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical work. The solicitation requires a 10 percent bid security for each contract, documented experience of at least five years and five comparable projects, and performance of at least 50 percent of the work by the prime bidder's own workforce. Prevailing-wage, disadvantaged-business-enterprise affirmative-step, Pennsylvania employment-verification, environmental, and funding-related requirements apply. The contract documents state 548 calendar days to substantial completion and 608 calendar days to final completion after contract time begins, with a $500-per-day liquidated-damages provision.
