Description
The City of Irvine is soliciting a contractor to crush an existing stockpile of Portland cement concrete, asphalt concrete, and cement-treated base into crushed miscellaneous base in accordance with the 2024 Greenbook, Section 200-2.4. The source material has been processed into approximately 2-inch cubes; the contractor must remove and dispose of protruding reinforcing steel rebar. Crushed material may be retrieved by nearby construction projects while operations continue. The contractor must provide the labor, materials, equipment, access, temporary power and water-related work identified in the plans and special provisions, including creation of access to the crushing yard and erosion and sediment controls. The project has a 120-working-day contract period, requires a Class A contractor's license, and is subject to the City's Community Workforce Agreement, including a 30% local-employment goal, union-related labor requirements, prevailing wages, and submission of a Letter of Assent and Minimum Wage Ordinance Declaration of Compliance. Electronic submission through the BidSync/BidsOnline system is required, with a mandatory onsite pre-bid meeting.
