Description
Elizabeth City State University is soliciting a vendor to provide unarmed security guard services for its campus residence halls. Services include 24-hour staffing, regular interior and exterior patrols, securing buildings and gated entrances, investigating disturbances, assisting University Police and residence hall staff during emergencies, monitoring residence-life policies and security systems, responding to alarms, maintaining duty logs, submitting incident reports, and reporting facilities work orders. The residence halls have a combined occupancy of 1,056 students and require varying staffing levels by building, generally one or two guards per shift. The contractor must provide qualified, uniformed personnel with university and company identification badges, supervisory coverage, flexible or rotating shifts, required training, background checks, and ongoing staff lists. Guards may also be needed for special events, move-in and move-out periods, fire watch, and other university-directed coverage. The contract term is three years, with up to two additional one-year extensions.
